Emergency Contact Data does not ask its members for, nor does it store the most sought-after personal identifiers such as:
The primary reason cyber-criminals access an online medical account is to steal a person’s identity. Emergency Contact Data has eliminated the primary content that leads to identity theft.
Emergency Contact Data also provides the option for members to exclude their physical address from the profile information that First Responders see. This feature is for those that do not wish to divulge this information about themselves and / or their children.
Digital access to your medical information.
If you have been to a doctor, had a procedure done in a lab or had an X-ray taken, your medical records are already online. If your medical information is on a server somewhere it is online now. The doctor’s offices, labs and hospitals ask you for your personal identifiers, like driver’s license number and social security number and sometimes they have your credit card information. Emergency Contact Data does not ask you for any personal identifiers or store your credit card information. An identity thief will seek your doctor’s computer system or the hospital’s computer system before Emergency Contact Data, as Emergency Contact Data does not have your personal identification information.
Member information is encrypted using enhanced SSL when transmitted and is stored on a secure PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Digital Security Standards) compliant web server. Credit Card information is stored separately, at the PCI DSS compliant payment processor. Emergency Contact Data has been validated as compliant by Trustwave, a leader in PCI DSS. All hosting is supported by high-security firewalls. Each member’s password is encrypted when stored on the server and is known only to the member. We do not know a member’s password. If the member misplaces his or her password a new one is created. See FAQs
